October was a big month for PC gamers because, unlike previous months where Blizzard and Maxis have owned the charts, there were several high profile PC-centric games releasing, including Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, and Crysis: Warhead.

It’s official: the NPD numbers are in.  And remember, these figures are important; they are the first sales figures really influenced by holiday purchasing.  Well let’s dive right into it:
Hardware:

Nintendo Wii - 803,000
Nintendo DS - 491,000
Microsoft Xbox 360 - 371,000
Sony PSP - 193,000
Sony PlayStation 3 - 190,000
Sony PlayStation 2 - 136,000

Once again, the NPD numbers of the month have been released and it’s time for the internets to light up once again reporting about them.  Let’s start out with the hardware figures:

Wii - 687,000
Nintendo DS - 536,800
Xbox 360 - 347,200
PSP - 238,100
PlayStation 3 - 232,400
PlayStation 2 - 173,500

A few days early this month for some reason (NPD numbers are usually released on the 15th), the NPD Group released their monthly video game numbers.  The numbers are… well, boring.  Not too many surprises this month.  Here’s the rundown:
Hardware:

3. PSP - 253,000
4. Xbox 360 - 195,200

Guess what?  It’s the 15th of the month again and you know what that means: NPD numbers!  Well let’s take a look, starting with the console sales.
